So is it worth playing?
Yes, despite some flaws, especially to the almost-hopeless adventuring section, I think Birthright:The Gorgon’s Challenge is worth at least trying if you like old games, and even re-playing if you like this game. 14 years after its release, its obviously very dated, but it still has an immersive game world, a unique holdings and battle system, and one really powerful enemy – the Gorgon – to challenge you for a while. And when you’ve tried every realm, every type of character, and nothing’s a challenge anymore, then head into the downloads section for fresh scenarios or the tools to make your own. Of course, having built a set of pages devoted to the game, as well as played it obsessively, I may of course be a little biased on the matter. But if you’ve continued reading all the way down here, maybe you are too?
